Patel to hold meeting of PCC office-bearers’ today

Raipur, September 29, 2012

State Congress president Nandkumar Patel will convene meeting of the party office-bearers at Congress Bhawan on at 12 pm on Sunday. The AICC secretary and PCC secretary incharge Bhakt Charandas, who will also attend the meeting, is likely to give significant tips to the senior leaders regarding party’s future course of action against BJP. The meeting will also be attended by CLP leader Ravindra Choubey.

In the meeting, Patel will take stock of party activities from Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha incharges besides making fresh strategy to gherao the ruling party in coming days.

According to information, the party is in no mood to spare the BJP government on cola blocks allocation issue and would continue to raise the matter in its forthcoming events as well. For this, Patel is likely to issue specific directives to the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha incharges.

Besides, he would also discuss the issue of 138 tubectomy operations which were conducted in four hours by one doctor in a government health camp at Daundilohara (Balod) recently. The party will frame plan to attack Health Minister Amar Agrawal on this matter. The party has been continuously targeting Agrawal in the recent past over uterus-removal case, Balod eye camp incident, etc.

At 3 pm, the convenor of monitoring committee Satyanarayan Sharma will hold meeting of the panel members. Notably, this will be the first meeting of the monitoring committee after the party sacked panel chairman Arvind Netam for favouring PA Sangma for Presidential candidature. With no Netam, the party has assigned Sharma the task to expose corruption of the state government in centrally-sponsored schemes including MNREGA, PMGSY, etc by collecting evidences.

At 4 pm, the meeting of discipline committee will be held. In the meeting, the issue of notice shot by DCC Raipur urban president Inderchand Dhariwal to RMC mayor Kiranmayi Nayak on wrong placement of his photograph in an advertisement would be raised. Notably, Nayak did not respond to Dhariwal’s notice. Sources informed that the committee will go through the entire episode and forwards its report to the state unit chief.

The party is less likely to take action against Nayak and more likely to instruct her and Dhariwal to coordinate with each other putting aside their egos, sources added.
At 4:30 pm, the meeting of building construction committee will be convened.

On the sidelines of the meeting of discipline committee, Bhakt Charandas will interact with the media in presence of Patel and Choubey at 4 pm at Congress Bhawan.
