Cong’s block-level anti-govt movement to begin from 31st

Party’s membership drive to commence from October 16

Congress will launch its block-level government movement against government from October 31. The state unit will also launch its membership campaign from October 16 across the state. The decisions were taken during the meeting of PCC general secretaries, DCC presidents and senior party leaders convened by state unit chief Nandkumar Patel at Congress Bhawan on Monday.

The PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda informed that through its block-level movement the party will once again raise issues like inordinate power bills, black marketing of fertilisers and handing over of Bhatgaon-II and Bhatgaon-II extension coal blocks to Sancheti brothers for commercial mining and exploration. Besides, the party will also demand from the state government to make paddy MSP to Rs 2000, he added.

The block-level movement will conclude on December 31 and will be participated by all the senior party leaders.

Further, Patel has asked all the partymen to participate in the membership campaign to increase the Congress gamut in the state.

He also instructed the DCC and BCC presidents to ensure that every voter’s name is included in voter list during voter list revision programme that has started on October 1 and will conclude on October 31. For this, he said all the polling booth agents should visit door-to-door in their respective areas.

He said the assembly-level workers’ training programme should be conducted according to scheduled timings. In October 2012, the party will conduct four such programmes. Through training programmes, the party aims to impart detailed information about Congress and mission 2013 and 2014 to the selected workers from 20952 polling centres.
