Cong to RDA: Build new shops for displaced shopkeepers

Congress has demanded from Raipur Development Authority (RDA) to construct new shops for displaced shopkeepers at Devendra Nagar on the same place in one month.

“Twenty years back, the RDA constructed 79 shops at Rajiv Gandhi commercial complex in Devendra Nagar and allocated to unemployed persons by taking premium amount Rs 65000. One week before, the RDA demolished all the shops terming them illegal. This is sheer deception,” said DCC Raipur Urban president Inderchand Dhariwal submitted memorandum to RDA chairman Sunil Soni on Friday.

He suggested that the RDA can also construct new shops for the displaced shopkeepers on the vacant land near Chhattisgarh haat bazaar Devendra Nagar.

In this connection, the Congmen also submitted memorandum to chief executive officer (CEO) of RDA Alex Paul Menon.

On the occasion, Dhariwal was accompanied by DCC Raipur Urban general secretary Dr Niranjan Haritwal, vice president Madan Taleda, Dinesh Tiwari, Nitin Thakur, Yogesh Tiwari, Satnam Singh Panag, Sharik Rais Khan, Manish Dayal, Jagdish Ahuja, Sumit Das, etc.
