Naya Raipur affected farmers to get added rehab package


Raipur, October 27, 2012

Chief Minister Raman Singh has announced additional rehabilitation package for affected farmers of Naya Raipur project. His announcement came during his interaction with the farmers, panchs and sarpanchs of Naya Raipur project area at his residence on Saturday.

Now the farmers, whose lands have been acquired by the government to develop Naya Raipur, will get Rs 15000 per acre every year for 13 years, i.e. from 2012-13 to 2025-26.

Besides, there will be hike of Rs 750 every year. The government will also give one-time rehabilitation package at the rate of Rs 2.50 lakh per hectare to the farmers as was decided earlier during the meeting of its representatives with farmers in 2010-11.

The CM further announced that families of affected villages from the Naya Raipur project will get lease of 1200 sq ft land. The lease will be given after conduction of survey in affected villages.

In addition, 75% percent of the shops being constructed in the villages coming under Naya Raipur project area would be kept reserved for the affected villagers. These shops will be provided to the villagers construction cost.

The meeting at CM house was attended by Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat, Women and Child Development Minister Lata Usendi, MLA Rudra Kumar Guru, Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) chairman N Baijendra Kumar, NRDA CEO SS Bajaj, Raipur Collector Siddharth Komal Pardeshi and Raipur SSP Dipanshu Kaabra.
