NaMo, Chetan Bhagat away from reality, says Congress

Raipur, September 23, 2013

Ridiculing novelist Chetan Bhagat for his comparative remark on its national vice president Rahul Gandhi and BJP’s PM Narendra Modi, the state Congress on Monday said both Bhagat and Modi were much away from reality.

“While one exaggerates in his speeches, the other does it in his novels. It is natural that the two persons living in dream world fee connected to each other. None of the two understands public sentiments,” said PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda.

Bhagat, during his day-long Chhattisgarh visit on September 22, had stated that – Modi is full of ideas while Gandhi has nothing except his mother.

Chhabda said Bhagat was flattering Modi because he was eyeing Rajya Sabha seat through BJP quota. Chhabda advised Bhagat to raise his mental level to comprehend Gandhi’s thoughts.

“Gandhi guided Centre in framing several people-oriented laws. To his credit are the laws like food security, land acquisition, MNREGA, RTI, RTE, etc. While Gandhi meets poor to bring his schemes to practical footing, Bhagat goes to five star hotels and pubs to develop thoughts for his novels,” he added.

Terming Bhagat’s identity no less than a dwarf before Gandhi’s persona, Chhabda said merely writing few novels in mediocre language, the former had started counting self among nation’s top litterateurs.

“The man, who writes on theme of pizza and burger, will never understand significance of mother, rice-dal-chapatti and employment. Ironically, Bhagat is not even known to one percent of Indian population as compared to Congress that has reached to remotest part of the country, but he arrogantly boasts that he would not hesitate in publicising Gandhi’s thoughts if the latter would have any,” Chhabda said.
