“The objective of the conference is to expose BJP government’s failure to implement central schemes aimed to benefit farmers,” said PCC programme coordinator Bhupesh Baghel and party spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi while talking to media persons at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday.
Baghel said decision to organise kisan sammelan was taken by senior party leaders during their recent meeting at New Delhi . The conference will be organised in Abhanpur, Patan, Rajnandgaon and Bastar. He said party’s national vice president Rahul Gandhi is likely to attend Bastar conference.
He said the party had let no stone unturned in preparing for assembly elections and all the initiatives taken by late PCC chief Nandkumar Patel would be continued in future.
In Abhanpur conference, Trivedi said, the party would remind the ruling party about its promises made to farmers like Rs 270 paddy bonus and free electricity up to five HP pump for irrigation.
He said the party would further tell people how over 12000 farmers committed suicide under BJP regime since 2003.
