Congress for declaratio of red alert in diarrhoea-hit districts

Raipur, September 23, 2013

Congress has asked government to instantly declare red-alert in Bastar division’s diarrhoea-hit districts and take effective measures to control the disease.

“The death-toll due to diarrhoea epidemic in Bastar has reached to 100 while over 1000 people are still suffering from it,” said PCC spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.

“In the absence of proper treatment facility, the villagers are migrating elsewhere. The condition in remote areas is worst with no doctors and medicines,” he added.

“It is an irony that in backdrop of diarrhoea outbreak in Bastar, the health minister Amar Agrawal is celebrating his birthday. This government has crossed all limits of insensitivity,” he said.
