Centre’s land acquisition act to benefit CG farmers: Cong

Raipur, August 30, 2013

Hailing passage of Centre’s land acquisition bill in parliament, the state Congress on Friday said the law would certainly benefit farmers of Chhattisgarh as they would get better rate of their lands as compared to the existing condition.

“In India, maximum forced land acquisition cases happen in Chhattisgarh. The incumbent BJP government has actually taken farmers’ lands at incredibly low rate and given to the industrialists,” said PCC spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.

He said the Centre’s land acquisition bill holds more importance because it is called ‘right to fair compensation and transparency’. “The bill gives full right to the farmers to get reasonable rate of their lands,” he added.
