A delegation of Congress members on Saturday complained to Tikarapara police against DS construction, the implementation agency hired by NHAI to build fourlane at Ring Road No 1, regarding inconvenience faced by commuters on the road stretch below Santoshi Nagar overbridge due to appearance of several potholes with two-three feet size.
The delegation said the DS Construction was supposed to repair the road but its indifference had turned the area into accident-prone zone.
Terming the road as one of the busiest in suburbs of the city, the delegation told the police that everyday over 50000 people use it and about 20-30 become victim of large potholes.
The delegation said it had complained about it to state government and even urged the construction agency in that regard but nothing happened. It asked the police to register FIR against officials of DS Construction and said the Congress would aggressively agitate if the road would not be repaired in coming days.
The delegation was led by DCC Raipur Urban president Vikas Upadhyay and PCC youth backward class cell chief Sumit Das and comprised of Satnam Singh Panag, Samir Akhtar, Amit Das, Devendra Yadav, Sheikh Shakeel, Mateen Khan, Shameem Akhtar, etc.
