Congress has demanded legal action against chief minister Raman Singh and state ministers Brijmohan Agrawal, Ramvichar Netam, Amar Agrawal and Rajesh Munat for their alleged involvement in Indira Priyadarshini Bank scam. In this regard, a delegation of Congress led by party chief Charandas Mahant on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Governor Shekhar Dutt and demanded to make CM and four ministers co-accused.
The party also reiterated its demand of CBI inquiry into the matter. Besides, it said the government should recover Rs one crore each from 22 defaulters whom the bank had given loan.
The party said since the CD of bank manager Umesh Sinha’s narco test it had disclosed in the past and the one obtained by the bank’s accountholder recently from the police under RTI were same, there was no reason to delay action against CM and the four ministers.
They also expressed their ire over police for not submitting the CD before court. Terming state police incapable of handling the matter, the delegation urged the Governor to assign the task to CBI.
They said the bank’s accountholders too were waiting to get back their deposited fund.
Notably, the Congress is pursuing the matter for the last couple of years. The BJP ministers had bluntly rejected allegations against them when the Congress revealed CD before media in the recent past. Now, after obtaining similar CD from the police, the principal opposition looks more confidence and wants to mount pressure on government by seeking action against CM and the four ministers from Governor.
The delegation was comprised of Satyanarayan Sharma, Bhupesh Baghel, Rajendra Tiwari, Gurmukh Singh Hora, Iqbal Ahmed Rizvi, Subhash Sharma, Subhash Dhuppad, Sanjay Pathak, Amitesh Shukla, Kuldeep Juneja, Rudra Guru, Kiranmayi Nayak, Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari, Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Amit Pandey, etc.
