Cong flays BJP for defending Asaram

Congress has flayed BJP for defending Sant Asaram after a minor accused the latter for raping her at his ashram based at Jodhpur (Rajasthan). The PCC spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said the BJP was adopting double standards towards rapists. 

“The BJPians have been strongly demanding stern action against culprits of Delhi and Mumbai rape incidents, but it instantly came to Asaram’s defense when it found him facing rape charges,” he added.

He also condemned assault on media persons by Asaram’s supporters in Jodhpur. “The incident indicates that Asaram’s supporters wanted to suppress voice of those who want action against their guru on rape incident,” he said.
