Congress on Friday said the demands of panchayat secretaries, who are on indefinite strike for past 14 days, were genuine and the government must quickly take positive step in their favour.
“The panchayat secretaries play key role in implementation of Central and state programmes, but get very less salary. The government should instantly fulfil their demands,” said PCC president Charandas Mahant and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey.
They said Congress would meet demanded of panchayat secretaries if the government poses indifference towards them.
