Chief minister Raman Singh says that the state’s four development authorities have played vital role in removing regional imbalance. These authorities are strong medium to hold a dialogue between the government and public representatives and come up with effective decision pertaining to development, he adds. Singh was speaking during review meeting of Bastar & southern region, Sarguja & northern region, scheduled caste and Chhattisgarh state rural regional development authorities at Naya Raipur-based mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan) on Thursday.
“We constituted these authorities as an experiment and succeeded in our objective. The government will carry several development works through these authorities in coming years,” he said.
“The government has taken several historical decisions, including establishment of medical colleges in Jagdalpur and Raigarh, through this forum,” he said by adding that the officials would now have to expedite process of establishing new government medical college in Ambikapur.
He further instructed officials ensure that national mineral development corporation (NMDC) resolves pending cases of compensation of displaced families in Nagarnar in one month. Under compensation, the corporation is supposed to give job to at least one member each of the displaced families. Presently, 198 families have not received compensation from NMDC.
In the meeting, it was also decided to hand over operations of fair price shops in 27 villages in Orchha (Aboojhmaad) under Narayanpur district to Ramkrishna Mission Ashram.
