Govt not maintaining temples: Congress

Raipur, September 17, 2013

Congress has alleged that the government was not maintaining temples across the state despite massive fund being spent by tourism and culture department every year. “The tourism and culture department as well as archaeological department are indifferent towards state’s temples,” said Congress spokesperson Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari.

“Barsur has historical importance in state. The government also organises Barsur festival and spend huge fund. The state’s biggest temple of lord Ganesha is in Barsur. The tourism and culture department is supposed to maintain this temple but it is not doing its job,” he added.
