Jogi says CG kids not getting benefit of Centre’s RTE Act

Raipur, September 20, 2013

Congress legislator Ajit Jogi has alleged that state’s children were not getting benefit of Centre’s Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Indicating that with an aim to impart quality education to poor children in private schools, the Centre provides massive fund to state government under the Act, Jogi said the government was supposed to admit 25% poor children in private schools every year but it is not using the given fund on said purpose.

He further charged that the government was spending Central funds allocated for distribution of bicycles under Saraswati cycle scheme, distribution of school bags, uniforms and books, mid-day meals, monthly scholarships, etc in other departments.
