Ineligible organisation gets contract, NSUI opposes

Raipur, September 27, 2013

With its demand to revoke contract given to an organisation terming it ineligible for the purpose, the NSUI gheraoed tribal development department and submitted a memorandum to department’s additional director Sharda Verma on Friday.

The NSUI’s Raipur district president Pradeep Sahu said the department violated all the norms to give contract to one UICT imparting computer training to tribal students.

“The contract was awarded through bidding process. To obtain the contract, a bidder was supposed to have an annual turnover of Rs one crore, but the UICT fails to meet this requisite. Besides, the registration year of this organisation was changed from 2009 to 2008 through manipulations,” Sahu said.

He alleged that the tender was awarded to UICT because one of its partners Lalit Goel was representative of BJP MLA from Bhatgaon Rajni Tripathi. “All the tenders have been awarded to BJPians or their closer ones in past ten years,” he added.

He cautioned tribal development department of launching aggressive protest movement against it if the tender would not be cancelled.
