Cong, RMC observe Nehru’s death anniversary



The Congress and RMC observed India's first Prime Minister Pt Jawaharlal Nehru's 47th death anniversary on Friday. On the occasion, the Congress workers and the elected representatives of the municipal paid tribute to Nehru in front his statue at Nehru-Gandhi Udyan.
Thereafter, the DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal and other Congress workers paid floral tribute to the portrait Nehru at Congress Bhawan. Addressing the party workers he said, “Nehru was the architect of modern India.  He nurtured the institutions in India on the path of democracy. He also encouraged panchayat raj system in the country.  He created institutions like Planning Commission, National Science Laboratories and laid the foundation of a vast public sector for developing infrastructure for industrial growth. Besides, he also encouraged the private sector.”
He said Nehru also gave importance to education as well as economic growth of the country. “In the entire world, we are growing very fast economically and educationally and this has happened because of Nehru’s visions,” he said.
He urged the youth Congress leaders as well as the party workers to keep Nehru’s policy in mind and work for the betterment of the society and the country at large.
At Congress Bhawan, Dhariwal was accompanied by legislator Amitesh Shukla, DCC general secretary Dr Niranjan Haritwal, Madan Taleda, Iqbal Ahmed Rizvi, Sheikh Shakeel, etc.
During tribute programme at Nehru-Gandhi Udyan the RMC was represented by –Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava, MiC members Jagdish Ahuja, Rakesh Dhotre, Rani Satish Jain, Chandra Behra, zone 4 president Anis Ahmed, zone 2 president Neetu Ghanshyam Tiwari, corporators Ashok Manwani, Pradeep Verma, Bharti Avtar Bagal and others.
