YC padyatra against liquor sale, PMT episode begins



Demanding blanket ban on liquor sale in the state and CBI inquiry into PMPT paper leak episode, the Raipur Lok Sabha unit of Youth Congress (YC) started its public awareness rally in the form of padyatra at 1 pm on Wednesday. The YC members led by their Raipur Lok Sabha president Vinod Tiwari took out padyatra out from Congress Bhawan to Jaistambh chowk and then returned to the party office. During padyatra, the YC members were shouting slogans against the BJP government.
Tiwari informed that the padyatra would be taken in all the Assembly areas of Raipur Lok Sabha constituency from ward to panchayat levels. To chalk out plan for padyatra, Tiwari convened a meeting of all the office-bearers, Vidhan Sabha and ward presidents at 11 am in Congress Bhawan.
In the meeting, the YC members decided to expose corruption and irregularities prevailed in the BJP government. Tiwari further appealed the YC members to attend the Congress rally and public meeting against BJP government on June 26 at large number.
On Wednesday’s padyatra, Tiwari was accompanied by Anwar, Ashish, Pankaj, Sushil, Sandeep, Indrajeet, Amit, Sunil, Neelkamal, Alok, Rupesh, Sameer, Rahul, Khilesh, Sunny and other YC members.
