GDNS oppose Ganj Mandi project

Opposing the concept of Ganj Mandi project, the Ganj Dabri Nagrik Samiti (GDNS) on Friday said that the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) and Raipur Development Authority (RDA) took decision to construct multi-storeyed commercial complex in the area in haste and did not even bother to take consent of the residents and shopkeepers of the locality.
“We feel cheated by the RMC and the RDA. At least the municipal and RDA authorities should have discussed about the project with us. When they want to displace us then they must first take our permission and explain how we would be compensated,” said the GDNS members.
In this connection, a delegation of GDNS also met PCC president Nandkumar Patel recently and informed him about their concern regarding compensation, rehabilitation and other provisions which the RMC and RDA had not yet disclosed.
Patel assured the delegation that the Congress will extend its full support to the GDNS and asked the members to continue their agitation in favour of their demands.
