The officials and employees of Mantralaya under the aegis of Mantralaya Adhikari Karmachari Sangh (MAKS) will launch serial agitation from June 13, 2011 in favour of their various demands. In this connection, the Mantralaya staff held their general meeting on Friday and chalked out strategy for their serial agitation.
In the meeting, the staff criticised the officials of Finance department for not following the instructions of the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary regarding issues related to Mantralaya staff.
The MAKS on Friday submitted a memorandum to the Secretary General Administration Department and warned of launching serial agitation from June 13 if their demands would not be met with an immediate effect.
The Mantralaya staff informed that their agitation will begin with ‘protest at work’ on June 13and they will wear black bands. On June 14, they will stage dharna before the office of the Chief Secretary and would then go on indefinite strike from June 17.
The demands of the Mantralaya staff are – immediate promotion in all categories, hike in Mantralaya allowance, increase salaries of section officers and personal assistants from Rs 6500 to Rs 8000 or provide salary Rs 7500 after completion of four years as is the provision for Central government employees and provide Rs 4000 salary to Assistant grade-3 as recommended by Tiwari Committee.
The general meeting of the Mantralaya staff was attended MAKS president Hemlata Ekka, MAKS secretary Krishnalal Kashyap, joint secretary KP Netam, vice president of Mantralaya grade-4 employee union Teerathlal Sen, Santosh Mahilang, Rakesh Tamrakar, Teerath Ram Sahu, Hemant Padeny and other employees and officials at large number.
