The Youth Congress (YC) on Wednesday burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Raman Singh and Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar for being impassive towards the jawans who lost their lives during naxal violence in Dantewada recently. Notably, the bodies of these martyred jawans were carried in municipal’s garbage collection vehicle.
“We strongly condemn the government’s indifference towards the jawans who are combating with naxals in adverse conditions. Ironically, the government is unable to make a difference between the martyrs and animals,” said YC’s Raipur Lok Sabha president Vinod Tiwari.
Taking a dig at the ministers, top cops and administrative officials, he said none of the government representatives dare to tour naxal belt and see the abject condition of the people living there. They don’t even have time to meet the jawans and inquire about their requisites. But at least, when these jawans sacrifice their lives, their bodies should be carried in garbage collection vehicles,” he said.
Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi also slammed the CM and HM for being insensitive towards the jawans.
