NSUI demands derecognition of schools sans basic facilities

Raipur, June 15, 2011

The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has demanded from Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) to derecognise the government and private schools that lack basic facilities with an immediate effect. In this connection, the NSUI members led by the organisation’s district general secretary Pradeep Sahu submitted a memorandum to the CGBSE Secretary J Minj on Wednesday noon and warned that they would launch aggressive agitation if their demand would be ignored.
Expressing his concern over the schools being operated in the capital without basic facilities, Sahu said, “All the schools will reopen on Thursday (June 16) but in some of them the facilities like adequate teaching staff, laboratories, potable water, sitting arrangement, sports ground, etc are missing. In this scenario, the all-round development of students is not possible. Hence, these schools should be derecognised quickly.”
The NSUI members who accompanied Sahu were – Ravi Sen, Tarun Soni, Mahesh Yadav, Rajesh, Pappu, Tushar, Aman, Manish Yadav, Prem Dubey, Vikas Patre, Rahul Dhangar, Ajay Pal, Sanjay Thakur, Narendra Pal, Ashish, etc.
