Expedite struggle for students: Patel to NSUI


The PCC president Nandkumar Patel has advised the national Students’ Union of India (NSUI) to expedite its struggle for students. Patel’s advice came while he was interacting with the NSUI’s state office-bearers and district presidents during a review meeting of the organisation’s activities at Congress Bhawan on Saturday.
Patel said the NSUI should prominently raise Pre-Medical Test (PMT)-2011paper leak episode and demand CBI inquiry into the entire matter to expose the incapability of the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CPEB) as well as the state government.
He further asked the NSUI members to aggressively launch agitation against Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission for failing to maintain transparency in its examinations and remaining embroiled in controversy throughout the year.
Expressing his satisfaction over the functioning of the NSUI, he said the PCC would extend full support to the organisation in all its campaigns for students.
On the occasion, the NSUI’s state president Sanjeev Shukla informed that the NSUI was dedicatedly following the instructions of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi to inform every citizen about Right to Education Act under which every school – whether government or private would have to keep at least 25 percent of their total seats reserved for students belonging to the impoverished section.
Shukla further informed that the NSUI would soon raise the issue of students’ union polls and demand from the universities to conduct direct elections. In this connection, Patel assured him that the PCC would support the NSUI.
