Govt distributes Rs 251.17 cr loan to farmers





The state government has distributed Rs 457 crore loans to the farmers during the current Kharif season. Like its loan facility with minimal interest rate for Rabi crops, the government is providing short-term loan to the farmers at the rate of only three percent annual interest through its 1333 primary cooperative societies, informed the officials of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank on Monday.
The loan is being given in the form of 60 percent cash amount and 40 percent farming materials like fertiliser, seeds, etc, they said. Notably, the government has set target to distribute 1500 crore loan to the farmers in the current Kharif season.
The officials informed that the farmers of Durg district have taken highest amount of loan, i.e. Rs 107.83 crore followed by Raipur – Rs 84 crore and Bilaspur – Rs 52.76 crore.
The loan distributed to other districts are – Mahasamund – Rs 28.83 crore, Rajnandgaon – Rs 36.97 crore, Kabeerdham (Kawardha) – Rs 49.61 crore, Jagdalpur (Bastar) – Rs 15.26 crore, Narayanpur – Rs 56 lakh, Kanker (North Bastar) – Rs 9.80 crore, Dantewada (South Bastar) – Rs 15 lakh, Bijapur – Rs 24 lakh, Janjgir-Champa – Rs 41.13 crore, Korba – 6.52 crore, Raigarh – Rs 4.55 crore, Jashpur– Rs 25 lakh,  Sarguja – Rs 8.94 crore and Koria – Rs 1.01 crore.
