Cong to RMC staffers: Don’t disrupt essential services

The Congress has urged the RMC Staffers revoke their decision to disrupt essential services in the city during their indefinite strike that will commence from May 24. “We support the demand of the RMC staffers that they should get benefit of 6th pay scale, but we would request them not to interrupt water supply and other necessary services as it would only cause inconvenience to the common people who too are in their favour,” said DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal on Friday.
He suggested that the RMC staffers could mount pressure on the government by cutting off essential services at the residences of the Chief Minister, all the Cabinet ministers, top officials and BJP leaders.
After remaining on pen down strike on May 11, 2011 and on mass leave on May 12, the RMC staffers as well as the RMC staffers under the aegis of Nagar Nigam Karmachari Sangharsh Samiti (NKSS) have decided to go on indefinite strike from May 24.
