PCC constitutes 5-membersub-committee

The PCC has decided to attack BJP on various issues. In this connection, the PCC president Nandkumar Patel on Thursday constituted a five-member sub-committee which will prepare charge sheet against the BJP-led state government. The charge sheet will contain information about rising corruption, lawlessness and other problems in the state. In coming days, a delegation of state Congress leaders will meet President Pratibha Patil and hand over this charge sheet to her. The sub-committee comprises of three legislators - Mohammad Akbar, Dr Shivkumar Daharia and Paresh Bagbahra besides senior party leader Bhupesh Baghel and PCC secretary Rajesh Bissa.
According to information, Patel has instructed the sub-committee continuously keep an eye on BJP government activities so that party could raise public-related issued against it regularly. The PCC’s step to form sub-committee is seen as its broader plan to uproot the incumbent BJP government in the next Assembly elections in 2013.
Notably, the AICC on June 1, 2011 constituted three significant committees for the state unit, i.e. coordination, disciplinary and monitoring committees to oversee flagship programmes of the UPA government in Chhattisgarh.
The announcement of the party’s national leadership came on recommendations of PCC president Nandkumar Patel, leader of Congress Legislators Party (CLP) Ravindra Choubey and other senior state leaders. Patel and Choubey returned from their New Delhi visit on Thursday morning.
After assuming office as new head of the state Congress, Patel has convened frequent meetings with the senior party leaders and workers to streamline the party and unite it before next Vidhan Sabha and general elections.
The party is also taking out awareness rallies against BJP government in different parts of the state. Recently, the Congress awareness rallies were organised in Sarguja and Bilaspur divisions. The party aims to organise similar rallies in Raipur and Bastar divisions too in the coming days.
