Govt distributes Rs 251.17 cr loan to farmers




Considering upcoming monsoon season, the state government has started distributing loans to the farmers for Kharif crops. By far, the government has distributed Rs 251.17 crore loan to the farmers in the current Kharif season. Like its loan facility with minimal interest rate for Rabi crops, the government is providing short-term loan to the farmers at the rate of only three percent annual interest through its 1333 primary cooperative societies.
The loan is being given in the form of 60 percent cash amount and 40 percent farming materials like fertiliser, seeds, etc.The government has set target to distribute 1500 crore loan to the farmers in the current Kharif season.
The officials of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank informed that the farmers of Durg district have taken highest amount of loan, i.e. Rs 60.43 crore followed by Kabeerdham – Rs 41.12 crore and Raipur – Rs 35.71 crore.
The loan distributed to other districts are – Mahasamund – Rs 9.33 crore, Rajnandgaon – Rs 32.47 crore, Dhamtari – Rs 3.26 crore, Jagdalpur (Bastar) – Rs 6.63 crore, Narayanpur – Rs 16 lakh, Kanker (North Bastar) – Rs 3.59 crore, Dantewada (South Bastar) – Rs 14 lakh, Bijapur – Rs 22 lakh, Bilaspur – Rs 30.67 crore, Janjgir-Champa – Rs 17.17 crore, Korba – 4.21 crore, Raigarh – Rs 60 lakh, Sarguja – Rs 5 crore and Koria – Rs 43 lakh.
