CSPDCL to start spot billing facility from August
Raipur, Jun 29: The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) will start spot billing facility in the capital from August 2011. The officials of CSPDCL informed that the provision of spot billing would minimise consumer complaints regarding power bills and meter readings. According to information, the spot billing facility has already been started in Korba, Champa, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon and few other cities of the state.
With commencement of spot billing, the representative of the power company would immediately hand over the power bill to the consumer after noting from the meter the total number of units consumed in the particular month. The officials informed that the consumers can also pay the bill instantly through cheque.
For spot billing service, the CSPDCL had recently invited tenders and will soon finalise the lowest bidder. The facility could have been started in May 2011 but owing to delay in tendering procedures, it is now expected to be implemented in the city by August, the officials said.
Notably, the CSPDCL had earlier commenced spot billing facility in Raipur but it revoked the tender in a short period after the hired company failed to manage the works according to the set standards.
