Cong demands CBI probe into PMT episode

The Congress on Wednesday stressed on CBI inquiry into PMT paper leak episode terming the state government incapable of maintaining transparency and impartiality during the investigation. “The Chief Minister Raman Singh is simply playing with the emotions of the candidates who appeared in the PMT by constituting a committee of officials to conduct probe into the matter,” said PCC president Nandkumar Patel and leader of Congress Legislators’ Party (CLP) Ravindra Choubey.
“It is impossible to believe the inquiry proceedings of the committee of the officials when many high-profile figures in the government too are expected to be linked with the racket behind PMT paper leak,” the duo said.
They alleged that the BJP government was attempting to protect the influential suspects by not handing over the matter to the CBI. “What could the committee of secretary-level officials do when they would discover several bigwigs mired in the game of making fast buck through paper leak?” asked the duo.
They said some interstate gang having gamut from Chhattisgarh to Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh was involved in paper leak.
“This is a serious matter and is related to the future of thousands of students. Hence, only CBI can conduct fair probe into it,” the duo said.
