Road before new civic HO will remain open

After strong protest by different political parties and social organisations against the RMC’s decision to close the road in front of the new municipal head office (HO) for public, the RMC Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Toppo has assured that the road would remain open and a large welcome gate would be constructed there.
Toppo’s assurance came when the a delegation of District Congress Committee (DCC) members led by their president Inderchand Dhariwal urged him not to close the road by submitting a memorandum at his office on Monday.
The DCC warned the municipal Commissioner of launching aggressive agitation against the decision to close the road if he would not give the assurance in written in 24 hours.
The DCC alleged that the decision to close the road was taken by the state government which was sheer attempt to harass people. “How can the government decided to close the public road from either sides of the RMC’s new head office? This has never happened in any party of the country? Even the municipal corporations of Mumbai or New Delhi had never dared to take such step but the state government never cares for people,” said Dhariwal.
The DCC delegation that met Toppo was comprised of general secretary Dr Niranjan Haritwal, vice president Madan Taleda, organisation secretary Dinesh Tiwari, Ibrahim Quraishi and others.
