64233quintals iodised salt, 41752 quintals sugar allocated




The state government has allocated 64233quintals iodised salt and 41752 quintals sugar for impoverished class of the state under public distribution system (PDS) for June 2011. The government is distributing two kg iodised salt free-of-cost to the beneficiaries under its Mukhyamantri Khadyann Sahayata Yojana. Similarly, the sugar would be distributed to the people living below poverty like (BPL) under public distribution system.
The iodised salt and sugar would be provided to the eligible beneficiaries from more than 10500 fair price shops across the state, informed the officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department on Friday.
The highest amount of iodised salt and sugar has been allocated to Raipur district i.e. 8674 quintals iodised salt and 5638 quintals sugar.
The iodised salt and sugar allocated in other districts are (in quintals) - Kabeerdham (Kawardha) – 2199 and 1429, North Bastar (Kanker) – 1875 and 1219, Korba – 2866 and 1863, Koria – 1618 and 1052, Jashpur – 1864 and 1211, Janjgir-Champa – 4106 and 2669, South Bastar (Dantewada) – 1804 and 1172, Durg 7957 and 5172, Dhamtari  -  1825 and 1186,  Narayanpur 389 and 253, Bastar (Jagdalpur) – 3995 and  2597, Bilaspur – 7189 and 4672, Bijapur – 851 and 553, Mahasamund – 3119 and 2028, Rajnandgaon – 3369 and 2190, Raigarh – 3824 and 2485and Sarguja (Ambikapur) – 6710 and 4361.
