Congress to Health Min: Open Ambedkar hosp main gate

Raipur, August 20, 2011

The Congress on Saturday demanded from Health Minister Amar Agrawal to open the main gate of Ambedkar hospital within seven days. The Congress warned that it would launch aggressive agitation if its demands would not be fulfilled. In this connection, a delegation of Congress workers led by DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal submitted a memorandum to the minister on Saturday.
The delegation informed the minister that the hospital also lacked many basic facilities owing to which the patients reluctantly go to private nursing homes. The delegation said neither the poor patients get free-of-cost medicines as per norms, nor the equipment like X-ray and CT scan were functioning properly.
The delegation further raised the issue of 40000 sq ft land being allocated to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and said the land was rather reserved for impoverished section of Gandhi Nagar (Kalibadi) but the government deceived them.
“The Gandhi Nagar residents had kept the specific land reserved for marriage hall, Aanganbadi centre and recreation for the past fifty years but allocation of the land to IMA indicates that the government is simply interested in making commercial use of that land,” said the delegation.
The Congress workers demanded from the minister to quickly revoke the land allocation order to the IMA and meet the requisites of the Gandhi Nagar residents for their better development.
The delegation was comprised of Sheikh Shakeel, Mamta Rai, Dinesh Tiwari, Ajanta Kaviraj, Samir Akhtar, Sundar Jogi, Radheshyam Vibhar, Nandan Jha, Achit Sindhe, Harish Santwani, Manish Ahluwalia, Pratap Wadhra, Dilip Chouhan and other Congress workers.
