About 25 BPL cardholders from Tikarapara (Shaheed Brigadier Usman ward) led by their corporator Satnam Singh Panag on Friday submitted a memorandum to Collector Dr Rohit Yadav complaining that they had not received ration from fair price shops for the past two months.
These cardholders, who reached Collectorate premises along with their families, informed Yadav that they were struggling to survive and would die of starvation if ration would not be given them in next coming days.
Taking serious note on the complaints of the cardholders, Yadav promptly asked the district food controller to ensure that all the beneficiaries receive their quota of ration every month.
On the occasion, Congress worker from Moreshwar Rao Gadre ward Sumit Das urged the Collector to quickly add the newly APL cardholders in the list the eligible beneficiaries so that they too could receive ration from next month onwards.
Panag and Das were also accompanied by Congress workers Sheikh Shakeel, Raju Yadav, Inder Thakur, Sewak Mahanand, Gopal Nayak, Mahendra Baghel, Ishwar Thakur, etc.
