The Congress has demanded from the state government to reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) so that people may get relief from petroleum price hike. “By reducing VAT which is about 25 on petroleum products, the government can give much relief to the people as the petrol prices would come down by Rs 10,” said DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal and spokesperson Sheikh Shakeel on Tuesday. The duo said if the government would fulfill its demand in next three days then the Congress would launch massive agitation against it.
