The Congress will organise workers’ conference in all the 199 Block Congress Committee (BCC) headquarters after monsoon session of Vidhan Sabha. The decision was by the PCC president Nandkumar Patel while he was convening a meeting of newly elected 11 DCC presidents and district returning officers (DROs) at Congress Bhawan on Monday. On the occasion, the leader of Congress legislators’ party (CLP) Ravindra Choubey was also present.
In the meeting, Patel discussed with the DCC presidents regarding constitution of DCC and BCC working committees. He said the party had shown united strength in the recent past and the job of the workers was to consolidate it at ground level. Patel said party was simply focussing on its mission 2013 when Vidhan Sabha polls would be held in the state.
He said considering party’s future plans the bock-level workers’ conference after Assembly’s monsoon session would be significant. In this connection, he asked the DCC presidents to prepare programme schedules of the workers’ conference for their areas so that maximum participation could be ensured.
The DCC presidents who attended the meeting were – Manohar Lunia – Jagdalpur, Naresh Thakur – Kanker, Shashikanta Rathore – Janjgir-Champa, Shyamsundar Soni – Korba Urban, Harish Parsai – Korba Rural, Jagdish Mehar – Raigarh Urban, Dilip Pandey – Raigarh Rural, Arti Singh – Jashpur and Nazir Azhar – Koria.
The DROs who attended the meeting were – Ruchi Dubey, Sheikh Najimuddin, Anturam Kashyap, Uttamdan Minj, Vishwas Uttalwar, Shekhar Sharma and Anil Agrawal. On the occasion, PCC incharge general secretary Subhash Sharma was also present.
