Wild animals not safe in state: Congress

The Congress has alleged that wild animals of the state were not safe and the government was not taking any initiative to protect them. The DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal, vice president Madanlal Taleda and other leaders on Wednesday said that many wild animals had been killed by people in the recent past owing to wrong forest management of the government. They said the illegal hunting too was rising in state forests.
“The recent killing of a leopard was a glaring example of the government’s apathy towards the wild animals. Another leopard was killed by the hunters near a village in Balodabazar lately. The mysterious death of a wild elephant in Dharamjaigarh is still a puzzle for the government. A couple of months ago, a leopard was poisoned in the jungles of Kawardha district. When will the government awake,” asked the Congress leaders.
