Govt to increase PG seats of Raipur medical college

Raipur, September 16, 2011

State government has decided to increase post graduation (PG) seats of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College (JNNMC) Raipur for which it has made a provision of Rs 8.18 crore in its fist supplementary budget of the current financial year. The government will also increase PG seats of Chhattisgarh Ayurvigyan Sansthan (CAS) Bilaspur for which a budget of Rs 9.94 crore has been approved. Besides, the government has approved Rs 15 crore to purchase modern medical equipment for Ambedkar hospital. The officials of health Department informed that Rs three crore will be spent on purchasing Image-guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) machine and Rs 12 crore on Computed tomography (CT) Scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines.
