Congress has asked government to fulfil demands of Shikshakarmis who
are on strike for the past one month. “This is high time for the government to
implement recommendations of DN Tiwari committee in state and give benefits of
sixth payscale to Shikshakarmis,” said Congress spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda
on Wednesday.
“While
studies in government schools have been affected due to striking Shikshakarmis,
the people - whose works are pending in government departments, are eagerly
waiting for conclusion of clerical strike. This is happening due to adamant
attitude of the government which is least bothered about public inconvenience,”
Chhabda said.
Reminding
the ruling party of its promise done to Shikshakarmis in poll manifesto in
2008, he said the BJP should quickly meet the demands of contractual teachers.
He
slammed the ruling party leaders for not mounting pressure on the government in
favour of 1.80 lakh Shikshakarmis who are striking along with their family
members for the past thirty days in capital city. “The government must
immediately take concrete step to end the strike of Shikshakarmis,” he said.
