Senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Friday said the government was
insensitive towards rising rape incidents and employees’ strikes.
“The
state BJP government as well as other political parties should learn from Congress
and its UPA government at Centre that posed seriousness in dealing the case of Delhi gangrape victim,”
said Jogi.
“Unfortunately,
the state BJP government is non-serious towards rape victims as is evident by
the attitude of chief minister and his ministers who, instead of ensuring
proper treatment of the five-year-old gangrape victim (from Kanker) at Ambedkar
hospital, preferred to celebrate New Year bash,” he said.
He
slammed the government for not providing financial succour to the family of the
rape victim kid for her treatment.
“The
BJP government’s insensitivity could easily be gauged by the glaring incidents
like Atari (Nandan Van) rape case, Meena Khalkhon case, harassment of tribal
teacher Soni Sodhi at jail, human trafficking of over 30000 girls, etc. None of
these cases have been dealt far,” he said.
“For
the past one month, Shikshakarmis, clerical staff, mitanins and Aanganbadi
workers are on strike with their demands. Consequently, works in different
government departments and studies in schools have affected, but the ruling
party has posed indifference towards these strikes,” he said.
