Govt must take initiative to end clerical strike: Cong

Raipur, January 14, 2013

Congress on Monday says that the government must take initiative to end clerical strike.

“The clerical strike has completed one month but the government seems uninterested in addressing the problems of grade III employees and ending their strike,” said PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey.

“With clerical staffers going on strike, the works in government offices have halted. People are going from pillar to post to get their work completed, but in vain. Considering public inconvenience, the government should taken proactive measures and done an alternative arrangement in the offices but it refrained to do so,” the duo said.

“First the government posed indifference towards Shikshakarmis’ dharna that stretched to about 38 days and now it is adopting similar attitude towards striking clerks, a bad omen for democracy,” they said.
