National seminar on art & architecture on Jan 12, 13


Raipur, January 10, 2013

State culture department will organise two-day national seminar on central India’s art and architecture at Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum premises on January 12 and 13. Pt RSU vice chancellor Professor SK Pandey will inaugurate the seminar at culture department’s auditorium in the museum’s while internationally acclaimed art historian Professor Ramanath Mishra from Lucknow will give introductory speech on the occasion.

The seminar’s academic secretary Dr Shivakant Bajpayee and organising secretary Dr KP Verma informed that national and international level art experts will read their research papers during the two-day event. The experts will also give comparative study and analytical presentation on the occasion.

To make the seminar successful, the culture and heritage department’s director Narendra Shukla has also constituted various committees.

The prominent art experts who will participate in the seminar will be – Prof Numero Irwin (Austria), Prof Chandrashekhar GUPTA (Nagpur), Prof SK Sullere (Jabalpur), Prof AK Singh (Riwa), Prof SK Dwivedi (Gwalior), Prof Alekh Khotriya (Amarkantak), Prof Pradeep Meshram (Nagpur), Dr Susmita Bose Majumdar (Kolkata), Dr OP Mishra (Bhopal), Emanuel Joseph (Gwalior), Rekha Radha Wallabhi (Sanchi), Dr Rajendra Dewri (Khajuraho), Dr Manoj Kumar (Hardwar), Prof Rupendra Kumar Chhattopadhyay (Kolkata), Ellora Trivedi (Pune) and Prof RP Pandey and Dr Sandhya Pandey (Gwalior).

The renowned art experts from state who will attend the seminar will be – archaeological advisor Dr AK Sharma, Prof Vishnu Singh Thakur, Prof LS Nigam, Dr KK Jha (Jagdalpur), Dr Dinesh Nandini Parihar, Dr RN Vishwakarma (Khairagarh), Dr CK Shah, Dr Ramkumar Behar, Dr Ramendra Nath Mishra, Professor PL Mishra, Dr Ashutosh Chourey and Dr Manglanand Jha (Khairagarh).  

Besides, art expert Dr K Laddusoni from temple survey project (North Region) Bhopal and archaeologist Dr Mohan Joshi will also remain present in the seminar.
The two-day event will conclude at museum premises at evening on January 13. Culture and tourism minister Brijmohan Agrawal will be chief guest on the occasion.
