Scams, corruption mark BJP’s 9 yrs in power: Jogi

Raipur, December 07, 2012

Slamming BJP government for failing to give good governance, senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Saturday said scams and corruption marked its nine years of regime in state.

“There is corruption in every department and so are scams. People are severely irked of this BJP government and want to get rid of it anyhow,” he said.

Her pointed that the prominent scams surfaced in - Bhatgaon coal blocks allocation, saree purchase for Anganbadi workers, bicycle purchase, sewing machine purchase, uniform distribution of schoolchildren, Adarsh gas cylinder case, paddy scam, Kamal Vihar project, fake diversion matter, inferior quality meter and transformer purchase, Rajeev Gandhi Shiksha Mission, etc.

Similarly, he said, corruption in the system had crossed all boundaries. “In government departments, no work is done without bribe,” he added.

He said the corruption predominantly prevailed in - purchase of linear accelerator machine for Ambedkar hospital, Centre’s Water Augmentation Scheme, BPL card and smart card, MNREGA, Indira Awas Yojna, bridge, road and stop dam construction, low quality house construction, water treatment plant construction, etc.

“In nine years, the government also failed to curb growing naxalism, women abuse cases, abductions, thefts, dacoities, human trafficking, custodial deaths, etc,” Jogi said.
“The people are waiting for the upcoming elections so that they could express their anger by not voting the ruling party candidates,” he said.
