About 39
candidates including Uttam Vasudev from Ajit Jogi faction and Deepak Mishra
from state Congress organisational camp filed nomination papers for YC
president post at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday. Besides, the aspirants aiming to
contest Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha president posts also filed nominations.
The YC polls, which
has rather become ‘battle of pride’ for both Jogi and organisational camps, completed
its second stage with Tuesday’s nominations. The polling for VS, LS and state
panels will be jointly held on December 17 and 18.
As scheduled,
Vasudev reached Congress Bhawan along with Amit Jogi, Yogesh Tiwari and others
in the form of a rally from Jogi’s residence. On the other hand Mishra also
displayed power of the organisational camp by taking out similar rally from
Ambedkar Bhawan to party’s state office.
Meanwhile, a slew
of Jogi supporters, candidates from organisational camp and independent
aspirants too filed nomination papers for YC president post. The Jogi
supporters who filed nomination papers were - Sandeep Sahu, Abhishek Modi,
Ashok Sonwani, Savita Pawar and Veena Bhimte.
Similarly, the prominent
candidates from organisational camp who filed nominations for YC chief post were
Dilip Singh Chouhan, Pankaj Mishra, Alok Pandey, Sandeep Tiwari, Ritu Mishra, Amit
Sharma and Anwar Hussein.
Besides, about 16
candidates filed nominations for Raipur LS president post including Sunil
Kukreja and Sonu Sharma from Jogi faction and Amit Sharma from organisational
camp.
Similarly, several
candidates from Jogi and organisational camps have filed nominations for
president post of four different VS areas of Raipur. The prominent candidates include
Kishan Bazari (organisational camp) and Sushil Agrawal (Jogi camp) – Raipur
West, Preet Sahu (organisational camp) - Raipur Rural, Sheikh Musheer
(organisational camp) and Sanjeev Shukla (Jogi camp) – Raipur North and
Indrajeet Singh (Jogi camp) – Raipur South.
Notably, there will
be ten posts each for VSLS and state committees (president - 1, vice president
- 1, general secretaries – 8).
In state and VS committees,
the post of president, vice president and general secretary (three posts) will
be open for all categories while remaining each of five posts of general
secretary will be reserved for SC/ST, OBC, minority, women, SC/ST and women.
In LS committees,
the post of president will either be open for all categories or reserved for
SC/ST. Similarly, the post of vice president and general secretary (three
posts) will also be open for all categories and remaining each of five posts of
general secretary will be reserved for SC/ST, OBC, minority, women, SC/ST and
women.
