Senior
Congress leader Ajit Jogi on Wednesday held the government responsible for
indefinite strike of Shikshakarmis and asked it to fulfil the latter’s demands
quickly.
“It is not the
first time the Shikshakarmis are striking. Certainly, they resort to this mode
of protest due to government’s wrong administrative policies,” Jogi said.
“The strike of
Shikshakarmis has affected studies in thousands of schools across the state. The
students who will appear in board exams will suffer more due to incomplete
course,” he said.
“There is a
provision of appropriate salary for Shikshakarmis under Centre’s Rajeev Gandhi
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, but the state BJP government is misusing the education
budget by spending it in other projects,” he alleged.
Jogi asked the
government to meet the demands of Shikshakarmis to avoid further loss of school
studies.
