State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will organise two-day workshop on promotion of mathematics in the backdrop of national mathematics year 2012 at a VIP road-based hotel on September 14 and 15.
The SCERT director Anil Rai informed that after inauguration three separate panels would discuss on different topics pertaining to mathematics one-by-one on September.
The topics are – mathematics is around us and is a part of our life, what is worth learning in school mathematics, how to make mathematics interesting and engaging and mathematics outside the classroom.
On September 15, the discussion would be made on subject – how can mathematics extend to the community. Thereafter, group work will be given for consolidation of ideas and to figure out implications of the ideas so that broad action plan could be made. In the last session, under another group work there will be presentation and discussions.
