Hariprasada: Sanchetis are Gadkari’s business partners

Raipur, September 04, 2012

AICC general secretary state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada says that Sancheti brothers are BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s business partners and except this they do not have any distinction to acquire coal blocks in Chhattisgarh. He reiterated that the coal blocks allocation is done on the basis of recommendations of state governments and hence Chief Minister Raman Singh was responsible for coal scam in Chhattisgarh.

While interacting with the media persons at Congress Bhawan on Wednesday, Hariprasada said the Congress wanted to hold debate on coalgate in the parliament but the BJP was avoiding it because of being exposed.

He said the government gave Bhatgaon-II and Bhatgaon-II extension coal blocks to Sanchetis who are civil contractors. Demanding CBI inquiry into the entire matter, he said the CM should resign on moral grounds.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industry Charandas Mahant said by inviting former BJP president Rajnath Singh and trying to clarify his stance over coalgate through dharna the CM confirmed that the allegations leveled by Congress against him were true.

PCC president Nandkumar Patel said the CM had squandered mineral resources of the state. He said the CM should hand over the matter to CBI and step down.

CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said the Congress commenced its movement against BJP government in September 2011 by handing over the then President Pratibha Patil the evidential documents of Rs 20000 crore scam done by the ruling party. “The Congress then raised coal scam, illegal mining of iron ore and bauxite in state. The government should cancel pact with Sanchetis as it did with Bamleshwari Minerals, which did illegal mining of about 22000 tonne iron ore in state, by recommending for revocation of its mining lease,” Choubey said.
