Congress has challenged state BJP to invite its national president Nitin Gadkari and Ajay Sancheti in its upcoming demonstration against coalgate at Raipur instead of inviting former BJP president Rajnath Singh.
“Gadkari and Sancheti would be right people to shed light on coal blocks allocation in Chhattisgarh. The BJP should consider our suggestions seriously,” said Congress spokespersons Shailesh Nitin Trivedi and Sushil Anand Shukla jointly on Thursday.
“In democracy, every party has right to have its say through dharna and demonstrations. But the BJP’s Raipur dharna on coalgate is an attempt to save its skin from the entire episode. However, by doing this, Chief Minister Raman Singh cannot shirk his responsibility as he is to be blamed for recommending specific individuals/companies for coal blocks allocation,” they said.
“Now, when the BJP has decided to demonstrate on coalgate, let it invite Gadkari and Sancheti who could tell precisely about Bhatgaon extension-2 coal block,” they said.
They also advised the ruling party to not only stage dharna at Raipur but also in all 27 district headquarters of the state with Gadkari and Sancheti as intact part of demonstration programmes.
