Protesting erroneous and inordinate power bills shot by Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) to consumers, the Youth Congress (YC) activists gheraoed electricity office at Amasivni on Monday.
The YC members complained that the consumers of single-point connection too had received inordinate power bills. “The power company representatives are not taking meter reading regularly hence the bills are being prepared on the basis of random readings and eventually consumers are getting heavy bills,” said YC’s Arang Vidhan Sabha vice president Khileshwar Dewangan.
He said the people were also irked of frequent power cuts in his area. “There is no one in the electricity offices to heed the grievances of the people regarding wrong bills and power cuts. If such condition persists, we would be compelled to launch offensive against the power company,” he said.
On the occasion, Dewangan was accompanied by Anil Tandon, Premshankar Yadav, Hitesh Gaikwad, Thansingh Sen, Purushottam Sonwani, Mayank Tiwari, Nandu Sahu, Suraj Verma, Siyaram Sahu, Ravindra Verma, Prakash Ratre, etc.
