Juneja objects over mandi mall proposal

Raipur, September 10, 2012

Raipur North legislator Kuldeep Juneja has strongly objected over proposal of new mandi mall at Shastri Nagar and has urged Raipur Collector Siddharth Komal Pardesi drop the idea mall and increase basic facilities for local slum dwellers. In this connection, Juneja, BJP’s Dharsiva legislator Devji Bhai Patel and Shastri Nagar residents submitted a memorandum to Collector on Monday.

“The Shastri Nagar people living in shanties are scared of being rendered homeless after Agriculture Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu toured the area and directed the Collector to build a new mandi mall and krishak Bhawan there,” Juneja said.
He said the poor people were living in Shastri Nagar for the past fifty years and instead of displacement they deserve better facilities.
He said the krishak Bhawan should rather be constructed in Naya Raipur instead of Shastri Nagar where such provisions would only cause inconvenience to locals with rise in traffic bottlenecks.
On the occasion, Juneja was accompanied by corporator Jaggu Singh Thakur, Akash Tiwari, Dilip Sarthi, Sanjay Pathak, Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari, Sanjay Soni, Sunil Bhuwal, Sheikh Ramzan, Ghasiya Nishad, Mohan Soni, etc.
