The state Congress has not yet declared new president for DCC Mahasamund but it seems the party is likely to stall the announcement for sometime with different factions claiming to give reins of the district to their proposed candidate.
While Vidyacharan Shukla and Charandas Mahant factions agreeing for Amarjeet Singh Chawla for the coveted post, Ajit Jogi faction still persists for MLA Devendra Bahadur Singh’s name despite the party’s policy of not giving the district unit baton to any legislator.
According to information, the four MLA from Mahasamund district – Devendra Bahadur Singh, Paresh Bagbahra, Agni Chandrakar and Dr Haridas Bhardwaj on Tuesday gathered at Jogi’s residence where it was decided to lobby for Singh till he get the district unit president post.
The Jogi faction has also prepared a memorandum which would be given to the state unit incharge BK Hariprasada and its copy would be sent to party supremo Sonia Gandhi.
